Welcome to Smoky Mountain Elementary School where we believe in the value of every student. We are committed to working every day to enrich the lives of our students through education and outreach.Smoky Mountain Elementary School can simply be defined using one word: community. Community is
defined by Oxford Languages as “a feeling of fellowship with others, as a result of sharing common attitudes, interests, and goals.”
The attitude of Smoky Mountain Elementary School staff is a united one in that we believe all students have the ability to learn valuable life skills as well as education content each and every year they are in our schools. We strive to equip students with the knowledge and resources to do that which is hard and
have success. We value the tradition of teaching our students to persevere in difficult situation whether in academics or daily life. Overcoming these obstacles together creates success that students and families will then celebrate together and strive for more success. We work to be the best in academics in
order for students to take that desire for success to the next step in their education journey and beyond.
The interests of Smoky Mountain Elementary School revolve around the overall wellbeing of our students and their families. Being a small school, we have the opportunity to truly become involved in the lives of students beyond the classroom. We have outreaches that assist families when needed with many resources. We also have a support staff that is incredible at identifying needs, whether physical,
social, or emotional, and develop plans to assist wherever needed. Staff members truly are present for our community.
The goals of Smoky Mountain Elementary School are rigorous in regards to academics. We long to give students the opportunity to achieve far beyond what they feel they are capable. Every student has the ability to learn and grow, and that belief is instilled in our staff and it is evident to all who observe our
daily activities. Our teachers are very active in the preparation of lessons and assessments that are rigorous and beneficial to the academic growth of their students. Beyond that, our goals as a staff are to provide a support structure within our building that allows student to grow and develop the foundations
of becoming productive citizens in our community that care about each other and work with each other to meet any challenge that may arise.
Here at Smoky Mountain, we are very proud to have a supportive community of parents and other stakeholders. Here in the foothills of the Great Smoky Mountains, we know you will grow quite fond of the mountain spirit that has been passed down through generations to for this great community found
at Smoky Mountain Elementary.
